Currently playing on my Ipod nano, stored in my Playstation 3 hard drive and screaming from my tiny notebook speakers is two albums worth sharing. Travis with The boy with no name and Radio Dept. with Pet Grief. 

Travis

Amazing come back from original purveyors of moody, bittersweet pop. In the lead single Closer, Travis craft out the sound which i fell in love with their earlier albums, creating a warm and shimmering ballad.The raw emotions that drips from Healy is pitch perfect to evoke a sense of struggle, belonging and hope.

Radio.Dept

After an excellent beginning with their debut 'Lesser Matters', much can be expected from the follow-up record from Sweden's dreampop masters The Radio Dept. They do not disappoint. 'It's Personal' begins proceedings in typically sublime fashion with a stunning instrumental; aligning beautiful synth lines to some sad, languid guitar chords. The title track takes hold with a melody that recalls the early doleful years of the Pet Shop Boys but with Radio Dept's trademark technique of treated vocals. The jangly melody of 'Every Time' seems to have its roots in The Field Mice whilst 'Sleeping In' and 'What Will Give?' revel in a summery euphoria that seems familiar, only the familiarity seems to originate from a more innocent time of life rather than a particular band. Throughout it's apparent that Radio Dept. have hit upon a very attractive sound, which is partly influenced by the much-derided shoegazing genre but with their ears also finely tuned to the importance of a good tune.

I guess i finally jumped into the Vox bandwagon!
